| Q What do I need to order a pair of spectacles from SelectEyeGlasses? |
All that you need to order with us is your prescription.
Your optician, by law, must provide you with a copy of your prescription, and shouldn't insist or imply that you need to purchase your glasses from their shop. Have your eyes tested, send your prescription to us, and save money.
| Q How can I get my prescription? |
| Your local optician is obliged under law to give you a clear, legible copy of your prescription following your eye test and you should not feel pressurised to buy a pair of glasses from that particular optician. |
| Q Why are our prices so low? |
| We do not have any expensive store to run, neither do we have to fund professional eye testing equipment.
We source the best glasses and then get them professionally glazed, which removes the middleman.
| Q What are the lenses made of? |
| Our lenses are made from light weight CR39 plastic material. For our 'thinner' lenses, we use 1.6 high-index lenses. We do not offer glass lenses, but we offer a free anti-scratch coating on all our lenses.
| Q Do you sell prescription sunglasses and other tinted lenses? |
Yes. We have 3 colour tints, Grey, Brown or Green (these come with a standard 15-20% light transmission); or your glasses can be made with the "transition" photosensitive lens.
This lens is clear in normal lighting conditions, but when its enters sunlight, it tints and includes a 100% UV filter.
You can select these options on the lens details page when ordering your glasses.
| Q What about lens coatings and tints? |

| Q Do you sell varifocal/progressive lenses? |
| No.These lenses are particularly complex to make, but this is something we are considering. |
| Q What is the delivery time of my glasses? |
We will process your order the same day that we receive it.
Your spectacles will be sent to your address via Royal Mail packetpost normally.
We will deliver your glasses within 14 days.

| Q "Near", "intermediate" or "distance" prescription? |
If your prescription has different measurements for near, distance or intermediate categories, we recommend the following:
Enter your measurements for all categories if you are ordering bifocal lenses.
For single vision lenses
- Use the "near" line if you need your glasses for reading or close up work.
- Use the "distance" line if you need your glasses for seeing things that are far away.
- Use the "intermediate" line if your glasses will be used for music or computers screens. Should you be unsure of this, ask your optician when he is performing the eye test.

| Q What is my Pupillary distance (PD), and how can I get it? |
PD is the measurement between the centres of the two black spots of the eyes (pupil).
This can enable us to achieve a more precise position of your lenses within your chosen glasses.
If you do not feel confident or you are unable to measure this yourself, your optician or doctor is able to do this for you in seconds. Aternatively we will use an average PD provided by an optician which will be sufficient for your purpose.
| Q I don't understand my prescription |
| If you cannot read your prescription, you can still send it to us and we will try to read it for you. Alternatively, the optician that provided the test is required to provide you with a clear legible prescription that you can keep for your records. |
| Q What if I made a mistake on my order? |
Call us! Due to the efficiency of the way our orders are processed, we will need to know of any changes as soon as possible.
For these reasons, may we please ask all of our customers to double check their prescription, and delivery details before ordering.
| Q What if my glasses don't fit after I receive them? |
| Most opticians will carry out minor adjustments free of charge or for a small fee. |
| Q What is your guarantee policy? |
Before we send your glasses to you, they are checked over by a qualified technician, to ensure the accuracy of the lens and the correct frame alignment.
They are sent out in a protective case, and should they arrive with a fault, we will be extremely happy to replace them free of charge.
